COVID So Vivid
Updated: Feb 10

This virus has been around in the country for so long, I am thinking of charging it rent, but it says it wants my city as a freehold. I might just give it to it and move somewhere else if it stays any longer.
Seriously though, it has been a wake-up call for us overconfident humans, who think we have everything under control and that we are masters of the UNIVERSE. I think not!
Have a read of my poem below and have a look at my latest book:
"20 Things I Wish I Knew At 20" on

COVID So Vivid
I am sitting here thinking of COVID
And I am trying to be kind
Watching peace in its dream-like state
Trying to find its mind.
I am trying to be positive
Trying to give nature the benefit of doubt
And as the death rate gets higher and higher
I’m wondering what it is all about.
Is nature trying to tell us something?
Trying to give us a clue
Finally running out of patience
And will now do what it has to do.
I have heard that humanity will never change
Until it is right upon the edge
It will still be overconfident
Until it is on the ledge.
I am filled with gratitude
That the horsemen have not yet called
That the vaccines may arrive just in time
Before COVID takes us all.
I am trying to maintain my humour
Using sarcasm and irony to cover the sighs
Laughing until my belly hurts.
And wiping the tears from my eyes.
Like I say;
I am still sitting here thinking of COVID
And I am trying to be kind
Watching peace in its dream-like state
Trying to find its mind.
